[Webmaster Tools]- How to Remove Single Page,Directory or Website

Google Webmaster allows us to control indexing of content of our website and we can remove unwanted indexed web pages,website folders or even a complete website which is called site removal. Suppose if you want to remove all posts written in january 2011 or in any other month ( Here I am talking about Blogs such as WordPress or Blogger) then you can remove all articles bu submitting the january directory ( yoursite.com/2011/01/ ) and all articles in this directory will be removed automatically.

Needs to Remove webpages from Google Search

suppose you remove some articles or pages from your blog due to any reason then it causes 404 errors and Googlebot will crawl 404 pages. It is not good for SEO if your website faces many 404 not found errors. To avoid any ranking drop you must remove these 404 pages from Google search and you can do this easily using Google webmaster tool.

Due to some mistakes such as wrong configuration of robots.txt file or wrong link relations it may be possible that some unwanted urls of our websites get indexed in google search .Formerly it is difficult to remove these unwanted urls from google search and it took a long time in refreshing google url listing .But now it is very easy .Google has added an option of removing unwanted indexed urls and these urls are removed within 24 hours or in  some little bit more .

How to Remove a webpage from Google Index

• Open google.com
• Go to account setting and select webmaster tools
• Select your website
• On dashboard select option ” Crawler access “

• Here select option remove url

Now press button ” new removal request ” and enter the full address you want to remove .

To remove a complete directory you have to add just the directory location instead of full page url ( site.com/directory/ )

To remove a complete website you need to add just domain name in removal request and all of your website will be removed from Google search within a few hours.

You can also re-include removed page within 90 days
