How to Unzip Archives on Fatcow,iPage,iPower Web Hosting

In this tutorial we have told how to unzip or uncompress archives on Fatcow,Netfirms,iPower and other web Hosting companies who are using vDeck panel. If you are new to vDeck panel, you may be angry with becasue it is a bit confusing. In popular cPanel it is very easy to archive or unarchive files and we all know that cPanel is the easiest to use hosting control panel. But many hosting companies are using vDeck panel for security reasons and if said honestly vDeck is an awesome hosting panel with loads of great features.

Specially the script installer of vDeck is perfect and far better than most of other script installers.

If you have to unzip any compressed file on server, you use file manager usually and in the file manager of vDeck panel you can not find the unzip option and it might be a big headache if you have to install a big php package. ( Uploading thousands of uncompressed files via FTP becomes a headache and it will take hours in completion of upload. So we need to upload all files as a zip file and then we can easily unzip all files on server. It saves a lot of time. )

Actually vDeck panel ( found in Fatcow etc ) has a separate option to compress or uncompress a file and you can find this option as “Archive Gateway”

• Login to your Fatcow,iPower,Netfirms or iPage hosting control panel
• Now under the Section “Website”  click on the option Archive Gateway

• Here you will find an application with which you can archive or unarchive any file and you can unzip any file to any folder
